Mental Abuse Matters VR project

Since 2019 I have been working closely with documentary director Lucy Baxter, in developing a VR experience for her project Mental Abuse Matters.

We are creating a live-action Virtual Reality experience where the user embodies a situation of emotional abuse within a relationship. The intention of this VR project is to produce a prototype that can be used as a therapeutic Virtual Reality experience for both the victims and the perpetrators of mental abuse, and a training tool for frontline medical and care staff to improve trauma care.

My role in the project has been script development, storyboarding and dramaturgy. In addition, I am contributing towards the sound design together with the team at Retinize our VR production company partners.

The completion of the prototype is due early 2021.
