Worldbuilders

Worldbuilders is the title of my PhD project in which I am developing bespoke immersive audio experiences for and with people living with Parkinson’s disease.

The research involves: immersive storytelling techniques, arts & health specific dramaturgy, spatialised audio and cognition.

The background and inspiration of this project is the increasing research into the use of mental motor imagery to address motor issues in people living with Parkinson’s disease. My innovation is to incorporate motor and kinaesthetic instructions within an immersive soundscape to engage the immersant’s imagination and motivation through co-creation, story and the imagination. Audio cues, music and rhythms have also attracted attention and research to support movement and neuroplasticity and make up an important part of the research.

During 2021, I am conducting online creative workshops with participants. If you are interested in taking part, please contact me for more information or click on the below link to be transferred to the project information which has the participant information and consent form.
